Head to the corner of South 15th in downtown Omaha for your next date night! Monarch Prime and Bar will have your taste buds dancing with its mouthwatering dry-aging program, deliciously contemporary cocktail menu, and relaxing atmosphere. I was invited to a complimentary blogger dinner for a sampling of Monarch Prime and Bar’s menu and I have to say, it did not disappoint.
Monarch Prime and Bar opened on September 27th of 2017 and Chef Patrick Micheels is making it Omaha’s Modern Steakhouse. What you’ll find on your plate are a lot of local ingredients sourced in Nebraska and Iowa.
They serve lunch and dinner Monday through Friday as well as Brunch on Sunday. If you’re thinking about what to do on February 14th there’s a special Valentine’s Day Menu that finishes with one of my favorite desserts, strawberry shortcake!
A few of the dishes we dined on included Potato Trout with Yukon gold, black salt, aleppo, and apple which surprised me with all its flavor. As well as Bleu Cheese and Kale, Chicken Pate with black truffle and Caesar Salad with white anchovies.
The main courses all arrive looking beautiful on their plates or boards. I love that each dish was uniquely plated. Bigger than your mouth, the Monarch Burger is topped with mornay, dill pickle, mustard and stacked on a house bun.The Grassfed Sirloin Prime Rib was a hit but my favorite was the Striped Bass with sunchoke relish. AHmazing and a dish I would order time and time again.
Make sure you leave room for dessert because Monarch Prime and Bar does not hold back. Those are S’mores below and they’re the perfect ending to a delicious dinner.
