#1 I-80 Wine Trail

There are nine stops on this wine trail along I-80 in Iowa. The sipping begins at Breezy Trails Vineyard in Minden and ends at Wide River Winery in Le Claire. Stops in between include Danish Countryside Vines & Wines in Exira, Penoach Winery in Adel, Jasper Winery in Des Moines, Van Wijk Winery in Sully, Fireside Winery in Marengo, Brich Arch Winery in West Branch, and Buchanan House Winery in Tipton.

#2 Iowa Wine Trail

Eleven wineries along the eastern border of Iowa make up the Iowa Wine Trail. The first top is Winneshiek Wildberry Winery in Decorah. The trail then takes you to Empty Nest Winery in Waukon, Engelbrecht Family Winery in Fredricksburg, Eagles Landing Winery in Marquette, PromiseLand Winery in Guttenburg, Park Farm Winery in Bankston, Daly Creek Winery & Bistro in Anamosa, Tabor Home Vineyards & Winery in Baldwin, Wide River in Winery in Clinton, and TYCOGA Vineyard & Winery in Dewitt. The final stop on the Iowa Wine Trail is Brick Arch Winery in West Branch.

#3 Heart of Iowa Wine Trail

Just like the name says, the Heart of Iowa Wine Trail hits eight wineries and one meadery in central Iowa. Fox Ridge Winery in Traer is where it all begins and Two Saints Winery in St. Charles is where the last sip is taken. Other wineries along the trail include Buzzed Bee Meadery in Melbourne, The Cellar at White Oak in Cambridge, Snus Hill Winery in Madrid, Penoach Winery in Adel, Jasper Winery in Des Moines, Summer Set Winery and La Vida Loca Winery in Indianola.

#4 Backroads Wine Trail in Iowa

With four stops the Backroads Wine Trail in Iowa visits wineries along Highway 92. Wineries include La Vida Loca and Annelise Winery in Indianola as wells Grape Escape Winery in Pleasantville and Nearwood Winery in Knoxville.

#5 Northwest Prairie Wine Trail

The biggest wine trail on the list, Northwest Prairie Wine Trail has you sipping wine at 15 wineries in Iowa. It all starts at Calico Skies Vineyard & Winery in Inwood. Enjoy beautiful river views and delicious sips at seven wineries on Iowa’s Scenic Rivers Wine Trail. Kicking off the trail is Cedar Valley Winery in Batavia. From there you’ll visit Wooden Wheel Vineyards in Keota, Odessa Vineyards & Winery in Wapello, Lindon Wines in Burlington, Airport Road Vineyard & Winery in Mt. Pleasant, East Grove Farms in Salem, Christian Herschler District Winery in Franklin.

#7 Western Iowa Wine Trail

Over on my side of the state, the Western Iowa Wine Trail takes you to 6 wineries and vineyards in Iowa. Stops along this trail include Breezy Hills Vineyard in Minden, Loess Hills Vineyard & Winery in Crescent, Prairie Crossing Vineyard & Winery in Treynor, Bodega Victorian Winery and Vine Street Cellars in Glenwood, as well as Sugar Clay Winery & Vineyard in Thurman.

#8 Loess Hills District Wine Trail

There are seven stops along the Loess Hills Wine Trail in Iowa. Starting at Danish Countryside Vines & Wines in Exira and finishing at Wabash Wine Company in Shennandoah. In between you will stop at Breezy Hills Winery in Minden, Prairie Crossing Vineyard & Winery in Treynor, Vine Street Cellars and Bodega Victorian Winery in Glenwood, and Sugar Clay Winery & Vineyards in Thurman.
